NIT Goa started its academics in 2010 with three undergraduate programs: Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering and Electrical and Electronics Engineering. The Institute admits students through Joint Entrance Examination (JEE Mains), formerly AIEEE, conducted by Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), Government of India and the scheme of Direct Admission of Students Abroad (DASA). JEE Mains (Formerly AIEEE) is considered to be one of the toughest undergraduate exams in the world with a very low acceptance ratio. Thus, all our students are among the top layer of India’s engineers.

The students of NIT Goa have faced meticulous courses spanning their respective fields. The scoring system has whetted each and every student to near-perfection, preparing them to face real world problems confidently. Being the pioneer batch of this Institute, our students are used to facing realistic settings with limited resources and modest expectations. They have learnt the merits of patience, dedication and team work first hand, making them well rounded and valuable additions to any venture. In this regard, their achievements so far do not fall short on any scale. Our system also allows them to explore their interests in their own branch as well as other branches, owing to various interdisciplinary courses which has led to many of our unique achievements. In addition to scientific and engineering skills, our graduates have been moulded into well-rounded personalities, given their exposure to team work on projects, presentation and communication skills and active participation in extracurricular activities.

The Institute is privileged to host faculty who have distinguished themselves as teachers, researchers, and consultants of extraordinary calibre. Faculty members at the institute have acquired years of research and teaching experience in world-class institutions across the globe, and themselves are products of some of the most hallowed institutions in the India. In addition, many have substantial industrial experience. At NIT Goa, the faculty performs a broad spectrum of functions, not merely teaching but being at the forefront of cutting-edge research.

In order to pace up with fast changing world, curriculum is kept up to date by incorporating the inputs from leading academia and industries. Regular talks by people from academia and industries are scheduled to expose the students to the evolving technology. Our undergraduate laboratories are updated with latest infrastructure providing the facilities for performing and testing ideas, experiments and projects. With the aspiration to grow and develop, NIT Goa has been continuing its efforts to widen its horizon.
